Angelina Jolie, originally Angelina Jolie Voight (born June 4 1975 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actress, director and producer, best known for her sex appeal , as also her humanitarian work. She won an Academy Award for her supporting role as a mental patient in Girl, Interrupted (1999).Jolie, daughter of actor Jon Voight, spent much of her childhood in New York before relocating to Los Angeles at age 11. After two years at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute She enrolled at Beverly Hills High School. New York University later taught her drama. She was also an actor in theater productions. Later, she was a model and featured in music videos. Jolie met Jonny Lee Miller (1996 divorced 1999). The film was not well-loved, and neither were other films. Jolie was the segregationist wife of Alabama's governor, attracting plenty of attention in 1997. The actress later won an award, the Golden Globe Award. In 1998, she was an actress suffering from addiction issues in the HBO movie Gia and it was a role that was rewarded with multiple awards and awards, including an award of a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award. In 1999 she appeared in the comedy Pushing Tin with John Cusack and Billy Bob Thornton, and the following year , she was married to Billy Bob Thornton (divorced 2003).After the Oscar-winning role in Girl, Interrupted, Jolie starred in a series of action movies. In Gone in Sixty Seconds ((2000)) she played the role of Nicole Cage's lover. She later changed her accent to an accent that resembled a British accent, learned kickboxing and street fighting to play the roles in Lara Croft Tomb Raider (2003) and Lara Croft Tomb Raider : The Cradle of Life (2004). She portrayed Alexander's mother in Oliver Stone's Alexander (2004) as well as starred alongside Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow in Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow (a sci-fi thriller set in 1930s New York City). Both films did poorly at the box office, however Jolie made a splash in Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005). She was a housewife, pretending to play an assassin. While making the film she met Brad Pitt who became her partner.
