Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland is a model and actor. Her debut in a feature film was a small part in her debut role in the Bond film A View to a Kill. (1985). Later, she portrayed Nazi-sympathising Archaeologist Elsa Schneider (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade 1989). Siobhan Donnevan is in A Prayer for the Dying (1997), Charlotte Taffin (1988), and Rebecca Flannery Major League II (1994) are other roles. Doody started modeling after being approached by an experienced photographer. The result was an impressive professional career as a model for commercials. Doody avoided nude and glamour work, a rule she carried over to her acting. After catching the eye of the casting director for an upcoming James Bond movie, she took a part of A View to a Kill in the role of Jenny Flex. Doody's name was included in John Willis Screen World Vol. 12 which features the most promising actors of 1986. 38. Doody was only 18 years old when she made her first appearance in the Bond part. To date, she is the youngest Bond girl. A Prayer for the Dying, starring Mickey Rourke in 1987, was another early film where Doody played IRA Siobhan. Doody played Archibald Craven's wife Lilias In his dream in the television adaptation The Secret Garden. The episode of the Storyteller Sapsorrow was her first leading part. It took place in 1988 opposite John Hurt, Dawn France as well as Jennifer Saunders. She first appeared in the movie Taffin opposite Pierce Brosnan. Next, she played the role of Dr. Elsa Schneider as an Austrian archaeologist, Nazi-sympathizer, and antagonist to Harrison Ford. Doody played alongside Sean Connery in the film in the role of Indy's father. Doody played the role in the British mini-series Selling Hitler with Jonathan Pryce. The show was inspired by The Hitler Diaries publication scam. Following her move to Hollywood, Doody became an international star. The role she played was Flannery in Major League II, opposite Charlie Sheen. After almost a decade away from screen Doody was back in the acting world with a small role in 2003 British comedy film The Actors with Michael Caine acting as herself in an awards ceremony scene. In 2004, Doody appeared with Patrick Swayze alongside a TV version of King Solomon's Mines. Also, she appeared in Benjamin's Struggle (2005), a pamphlet describing the Holocaust. Doody was part of Danny Dyer's The Rapture (2009). Doody was a guest on RTE's medical drama The Clinic. The project was later shelved. Pam Jefferson, the character she played in E4's comedy Beaver Falls during its first season of two years. She was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way in 2014, a documentary. In November of 2018, she was honored by the Almeria Tierra de Cine award and she received an award in the Almeria Walk of Fame.
